Why this standard height table base earns its place
A table top is only as good as what's holding it up, and this base is the quiet, unglamorous part of the job done properly. It's a square stainless steel column on a 400 x 400mm footprint, standing 680mm to the top plate — the standard working height that keeps a finished table at a comfortable dining level once your chosen top goes on.
Stainless steel means it isn't precious about where you put it: rated for indoors and outdoors, it shrugs off a damp beer garden as easily as a dining room, and it won't corrode or discolour the way a painted or bare-metal frame can over a few outdoor seasons. At 12.85kg it has real weight to it, which is exactly what you want in a base — enough ballast to keep a table steady when someone leans on the edge of it, without being so heavy it's a fight to reposition when you're rearranging a floor.
Bolero designed it as a genuinely universal base: it's built to take table tops across their Werzalit, Bolero, Compact Exterior, Durolight and Lamidur ranges, so you can standardise on one base and vary the top finish by room, by season or by refurbishment budget without re-ordering frames each time. It's self-assembly, so it turns up flat and goes together on site — straightforward for anyone kitting out a run of tables in one go.
