Why this standard height table base earns its place
A table is only as steady as what's underneath it, and cast iron is still the material that trade kitchens and terraces reach for when a base has to take knocks and keep a table dead level. The GH449 is Bolero's rectangular table base in black cast iron — weight low down, in the frame rather than the top, which is exactly what stops a table rocking or walking across a floor under a busy service.
At 720mm to the top of the base, it's built to standard table height, so it's ready to take a rectangular tabletop straight from the box without any adjustment. The base is pre-drilled, matching the way Bolero's tops are supplied pre-drilled, so lining up and fixing a top to it is a straightforward self-assembly job rather than a drilling exercise on-site.
Rated for indoor and outdoor use, cast iron copes with a terrace as comfortably as a dining room — it doesn't flex or corrode the way a lighter frame can, and at 19kg gross weight, that mass is doing real work keeping the table planted. Finished in black, it reads as a considered, understated base rather than drawing attention away from whatever top sits on it.
