Why this table top earns its place
This is a table top rather than a complete table, and that's the whole point of it — when a tabletop is scratched, stained or just tired-looking, you shouldn't have to replace the base underneath it as well. The FT292 is pre-drilled, so it fits straight onto a compatible base without you having to mark out and drill holes on site.
The surface itself is melamine-faced chipboard in an ash grey finish, a combination chosen for exactly this job: it's wipeable, resists the daily wear of cups, cutlery and elbows, and the grey tone is neutral enough to sit in most café or restaurant interiors without fighting the rest of the room. At 600mm diameter and 48mm thick, it gives a proper two-to-three cover round table without feeling flimsy underfoot when you lean on it.
It's built for indoor use and goes together as a self-assembly item — bolt it to your base of choice and it's ready to go. At 6.7kg, it's light enough for one person to fit and reposition without difficulty.
