Why this standard height table base earns its place
A table is only as good as its base, and this is where a lot of café and bar furniture actually fails — cheap bases flex, wobble or corrode long before the tabletop shows any wear. Bolero's cast iron table base is the opposite problem solved: a genuinely heavy, self-assembled base built in cast iron, finished in black, that exists purely to keep a tabletop planted through however many times a service throws itself at it.
Cast iron gives it two things a lighter material can't: mass and resistance to impact damage. At 720mm high, 600mm long and 420mm wide, with a gross weight of 16.5kg, this is not a base that shifts when someone leans on the table edge or a chair catches it mid-service — the weight itself is the design feature, keeping drinks and food from toppling and guests safer around a table that simply doesn't move. A zinc protective layer sits under the finish, so it's rated for indoors and outdoors alike, standing up to whatever an exposed terrace throws at it without the corrosion a plainer cast base would suffer.
It's built to take a Bolero tabletop up to 600mm round or 700 × 700mm square, so it's a straightforward way to standardise a run of tables across a venue — swap tired bases for this one and keep a consistent look without replacing tops that still have plenty of life left. Assembly is self-assembly, a straightforward job for a base this simple, rather than something that needs a specialist fitting it before service.
