Why this parasol earns its place
A parasol earns its place on a patio or in a beer garden on exactly two things: how much shade it throws, and how little fuss it takes to open, close and store between shifts. The GH989 is built around a 2.5m square canopy in green polyester over a wood frame, with a double pulley mechanism that Bolero design to make opening and closing straightforward for whoever's on that job at changeover.
The canopy runs 2500 x 2500mm square, with an overall height of 2730mm — tall enough to clear diners and staff moving between tables without anyone ducking under the frame. Gross weight is 10kg for the parasol itself, which is a genuine amount of wood and fabric to keep upright and stable once it's up.
That's why Bolero also offer a heavy weighted base, sold separately, to stabilise it against wind — worth ordering alongside the parasol rather than as an afterthought, since the parasol alone doesn't include a stand. Outdoor use only is the rating here; this isn't a piece to bring indoors between services.
