THE WORKING VIEW

Why this stick blender earns its place

The Robot Coupe CMP400 is the peak of the compact range: when you need the full capacity of a stick blender without the footprint of a floor-standing robot. At 4.1 kg of stainless steel throughout, it's a tool built for professional kitchens running at high pace. The 90 mm width still allows it to live on a wall rack or in a tight prep station, but the motor and gearing inside are engineered to keep up with demanding, sustained blending — the kind of volume that justifies a Michelin kitchen or a production-scale catering facility.

The self-regulating speed system isn't a convenience; it's essential at this capacity. As you push into thick reductions or large-volume emulsions, the motor automatically increases power to maintain smooth, controlled blending. There's no strain on your arm, no splashing, no need to pause and recalibrate mid-shift. The result is repeatability: the same silky purée, the same stable emulsion, batch after batch, operator after operator. The patented removable foot and blade system disassembles by hand in seconds — essential when you're moving between products under strict food-safety protocols. Knife, bell, disc and tube blade options arrive ready to use.

All stainless steel construction means this tool is built to survive years of daily washdown and commercial use. At 230V with a standard plug connection, installation is straightforward. The year's parts and labour warranty backs you against manufacturing defects, and Craven Cooling (01792 732702) holds replacement feet and blade assemblies in stock, so urgent swaps keep your kitchen moving without downtime.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Yes. The CMP400 is engineered with more robust motor gearing and is designed for higher sustained workload. If you're blending 10+ times daily or working with larger batches (5–10 litres per run), the CMP400 stays cooler and more responsive. The CMP350 will handle high volume, but the 400 is built with extra headroom for demanding professional use.

Stick blenders aren't designed for true continuous blending — they need breaks to cool. But the CMP400 can handle 15–20 cycles of 5–10 minutes each in a service shift without overheating. If you need to blend hundreds of litres for a single event, a floor-standing robot is the better tool. The CMP400 is for frequent, sustained use at high pace.

No. Stick blenders are designed for blending warm or room-temperature food. Attempting to blend very cold or frozen ingredients will strain the motor and risk damage. Thaw frozen ingredients first, or let them come to room temperature. Hot food is fine — in fact, many professional kitchens use them on warm stock or soup straight from the stove.

Daily: rinse the blade assembly hot after use, wipe the handle dry. Weekly: check the removable foot seal isn't degraded (it can be replaced easily). Annually: send the motor to Craven Cooling (01792 732702) for professional servicing — cleaning, bearing inspection, and electrical checks. That's it. Most issues in a professional kitchen are preventative or the blade assembly (simple to replace), not catastrophic failures.

The CMP400 costs more upfront because of its heavier-duty internals and higher sustained-load engineering. If you're blending 5–10 times a shift, the CMP350 is sound. If you're blending 15–20+ times daily or running intensive catering operations, the CMP400's extra capacity justifies the cost — you get better cooling, longer intervals between servicing, and confidence the tool won't struggle when the kitchen is at full pace.

Contact Craven Cooling immediately on 01792 732702. Most urgent issues (damaged foot, dull blades) can be swapped same-day because they keep stock. For motor repairs, the 12-month warranty covers parts and labour. For kitchens with high-volume blending, having a spare foot and blade set in the kitchen is a smart backup — they're inexpensive and replaceable by hand in 30 seconds, keeping you moving while the motor goes in for repair.
