THE WORKING VIEW

Why this countertop chargrill earns its place

The RMB624 is the smaller sibling of the RMB648, offering the same chargrill performance in a tighter frame. At 610 mm wide, it fits snugly into corner positions, against walls or into smaller pass layouts—ideal for kitchens where every centimetre counts but you still want the quality char that justifies a plate price.

Built from stainless steel and weighing 166 kg, it's a compact but serious workhorse. Gas-fired with a temperature swing from +130°C to -445°C, it sears burgers and steaks hard, then holds delicate proteins warm on cooler zones. The grate design lets you manage heat zones—searing on the mark, resting gently at the side—so you're in control, not just cooking through.

For smaller operations, events, pop-ups or restaurants with limited counter space, the RMB624 punches above its width. It's the chargrill that proves you don't need a full range to deliver house-standard grilled food. Gas supply and installation are the same as any larger unit—straightforward and reliable once set up.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

It's genuinely smaller—610 mm instead of 1220 mm wide—but with the same chargrill grate, same burner technology and same temperature control. You lose cooking surface area, not heat or recovery speed. It performs exactly like the larger model, just for fewer covers.

At 610 × 900 mm footprint and 592 mm tall, it's designed for tight corners. Most kitchens can make room, especially if you're replacing a smaller griddle or moving equipment. Measure your pass and account for gas supply access—your installer (call 01792 732702) can advise on placement before delivery.

That depends on burger size and how hot you run it. The RMB624 is built for pace, with fast recovery, but it's got less surface than a full-size chargrill. Peak output works best for smaller covers or a limited menu. For capacity planning, chat with our engineers—they can estimate your realistic numbers.

Yes. Chargrilling means smoke, so you'll need a hood above and commercial extract running. The unit itself is smaller, but the extraction requirements don't change—smoke is smoke. Factor this into your layout before commissioning.

If you don't have a gas line to the spot, you'll need one installed by a qualified fitter. It's usually straightforward if you have a supply elsewhere in the kitchen. Check with your supplier or call 01792 732702 to discuss your setup.

Gas appliances benefit from annual service—a safety check and a performance check. Most repairs are quick because chargrills are modular: grates, burners and thermostats are standard parts. One of our team (01792 732702) can schedule you and walk through the yearly maintenance your kitchen needs.
