THE WORKING VIEW

Why this griddle earns its place

The Parry 3013 is a standalone griddle built for volume: 750 mm of cooking surface, 2000 W electric element, a polished steel plate engineered to hold heat under constant load. Whether you're pressing 30 portions of bacon or running a non-stop breakfast service, the thermal mass keeps the surface steady from first cover to last.

Thermostatic control lets you dial the temperature from 50 to 300 °C — that range covers eggs and pancakes at the cool end, and searing burger patties and caramelising at the high end. The polished plate isn't just aesthetic; the finish retains heat more evenly than raw steel, which means less hot-spot frustration and more predictable results cover to cover. A removable fat drainage drawer sits underneath, pulling out completely for cleaning — no grease pooling under the grill, no odour creeping through the pass.

At 44 kg and 240 mm tall, it's substantial but not a full bench install. It stands alone on any worktop rated for a standard cooker, plugs into a single power socket, and needs space for the grease drawer to slide out. Stainless-steel base and surround mean it cleans quickly and reads professionally in an open kitchen setup.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

750 mm wide and 520 mm deep — that's enough for two full-size hotel pans running side by side, or six burgers, or 20 eggs depending on how you work it.

Yes. The thermostatic control adjusts the element beneath to keep the polished steel plate at your set temperature. The thermal mass of the plate itself means you won't see a dip when you drop cold items on it — recovery is quick.

50 to 300 °C covers almost everything: low end for keeping porridge warm or holding scrambled eggs without cooking them further; high end for searing, charring and caramelising. Most breakfast work happens at 160–180 °C, most short-order at 200–240 °C.

It slides out from underneath completely. Once a shift, empty it, wipe it, and slide it back in — takes 30 seconds. For a deep clean (daily or more often in high-volume kitchens), wash it like any other catering pan.

Yes, it's built for continuous service. The element cycles on and off via the thermostat, so you're not drawing constant full load — just the heat needed to maintain your set temperature. Running cost is reasonable for a 2000 W appliance at full tilt during service.

It weighs 44 kg loaded, so two people can shift it. Unplug, slide it out, move it. If you need it portable, make sure you've got a suitable power socket where it's going — it's a plug-and-go appliance, not a gas line.
