Why this gas range earns its place
The Blue Seal Evolution static range is the workhorse for kitchens that can't afford to waste space. The 1/1 Gastronorm oven holds a single full tray — that's a decent batch for a busy café or small pub kitchen, and the 4 cubic foot (0.11 cubic metre) capacity is enough to keep up with service without taking up a whole corner of the kitchen. The oven is static (no fan), so heat is even and forgiving; roasting, baking, and holding all work without fuss. The burner hob is open — removable cast iron burners that lift out for cleaning, which is exactly what you want when you're washing up at closing time and everything needs to come apart.
Safety is built in. Every burner has flame failure protection, so if you've got a pot boiling and the flame blows out, the gas shuts off. No risk, no worry. The door handle is cool-touch stainless steel, so you're not burning yourself when the oven is hot. The enamelled inner (not stainless) is deliberately chosen — enamel is tough and forgiving when you scrub it hard after a Friday night; it won't pit or mark like cheaper finishes. The burner spill covers are also enamelled and removable, which means if something boils over, you can clean it properly without dismantling the whole hob.
This range is built to move. It weighs 157 kg (light enough that two people can shift it), and the design includes adjustable feet for levelling on an uneven floor — important if you're installing in an older building. There are also two rollers built in, so once you've levelled it, you can roll it into its final position without grunting and dragging. The stainless steel finish resists the marks of daily work, and because the construction is solid, heavy-duty Blue Seal chassis, it will last through hundreds of shift changes. Two years' parts and labour warranty, plus the option to add a third year.
