THE WORKING VIEW

Why this combination unit earns its place

Small kitchens don't have room for separate stations. This unit stacks two functions—gas hob on top, refrigerated storage below—into the footprint of a single hob, built tight enough that prep happens metres from cooking instead of miles from anywhere useful. The fridge base runs -2 to +8°C, so you can hold cold proteins, salads, sandwich fillings, or prepped veg in the same place your team is plating. Grab from below, cook on top, plate out. No walking, no cold chain breaks.

The hob is full-width, all gas, rated at 25.5 kW. The fridge is a full commercial cavity—enough to hold 10, 15, 20 covers of prepped components waiting for the pan, depending on your plating size and density. LPG supply keeps costs down against mains gas where upfront connection isn't worth it. The build is silver-finished commercial steel; the cavity is sealed and reliable; the warranty runs two years parts and labour with an optional extension. It sits at 1085 mm tall, 900 mm wide, 812 mm deep—the depth is key, because it means you get real working depth on both the hob surface and the fridge cavity; you're not working from a ledge.

This is the unit that makes sense for cafés running mixed cold and hot service—soups, omelettes, grilled cheese, all happening in one work zone. Takeaways running sandwich-to-order or deli counters. Pubs prepping hot food with cold salad stations. It earns its footprint by cutting labour—fewer steps, faster service, less complexity.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

The base maintains -2 to +8°C, perfect for fresh prep vegetables, proteins, dairy, and sandwich fillings. It's not deep-freeze territory—it's working cold storage, so you can pull items without thawing and reuse the space throughout service.

It depends on your prep—typically 12–20 litres of volume, so roughly 20–30 covers' worth of cold components depending on portion size and density. If you're running high volume, it's not a walk-in, but for a café or deli counter it's genuine usable space right where you work.

It's a full gas hob—all burners, all sizes. You get the full range from simmer (low) to hard boil (high). LPG flame is responsive and forgiving; you can nurse a pan of stock or hammer out a fry-up, all on the same hob.

Single-phase 220-240V is fine; the refrigeration compressor and hob ignition pull 25.5 kW combined. Check your supply can handle it; most commercial installations have it wired. If you're unsure, your installer will confirm.

The compressor is in the base cavity, so you get some motor hum—it's not silent, but it's not a screaming walk-in either. Noise level is typical for commercial refrigeration in kitchens where there's already hob and extraction noise running. The motor cycles on and off to maintain temperature, so it's not 8 hours of constant run.

The hob surface sits proud of the fridge cavity, so spills and splatter from cooking drop past the work edge. Clean the hob after service as normal. The fridge cavity is sealed beneath, so water ingress isn't a risk—wipe the base unit's exterior daily, and the interior cavity gets a weekly clean of shelves and surfaces.
