Why this free standing fryer earns its place

The SG14S is Pitco's entry point to the Solstice range on bottled gas. At 71 kg in stainless steel, it's notably lighter than larger models—a real advantage if you're transporting it between sites or installing it in a space-constrained kitchen. It delivers the core Pitco advantage: Solstice Burner Technology that gives you fast recovery to temperature and lower flue temperature loss, meaning better fuel efficiency and a cooler working environment.

Single-tank design keeps things simple. No split-oil strategy to manage, no duplicate cleaning routines—you run one consistent oil schedule and keep your focus on cooking. For a café, small takeaway, or event catering operation, this is all you need. LPG supply is independent of mains infrastructure, so you can set up in any location—a village fête, a food festival, a street-food market stall, or a permanent site without mains gas connection.

At 1172 mm tall and 397 mm deep, it's compact enough to fit any commercial kitchen bench. At just 71 kg, it's the lightest in the range, making it practical to move or re-site. The atmospheric heating system means you don't depend on electricity—just bottled gas, water, and gravity. Thermostat control, safety switches, and two stainless-steel baskets are Pitco standard.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

The SG14S is lighter (71 kg vs 104 kg) and has one tank instead of two, making it simpler to manage and easier to transport. If you're running smaller volumes or moving between locations, the SG14S offers Pitco's proven Solstice technology in a more portable package. The SG14TS's two tanks are useful only if you need to manage different oils or product types separately—most small kitchens don't.

Yes. The SG14S on LPG is completely independent of mains gas and electricity. You bring bottled gas, you supply water, and you're ready to fry. Many event caterers and food festival operators run Solstice fryers this way—it's a key advantage of the LPG range.

That depends on your usage. A light-duty café might change bottles every few weeks; a busy event over a weekend might need one change mid-service. There's no exact rule—it depends on your fryer use time and flame setting. Most event caterers keep two bottles on-site and swap to a spare when one runs low.

Per unit of energy, LPG typically costs more than mains natural gas in most UK locations. However, if your site doesn't have mains gas—a marquee, village hall, or outdoor market—LPG is often the only practical fuel source. The cost trade-off is worth it for the independence.

Daily: check oil colour, remove settled food debris from the tank bottom, maintain consistent temperature. Weekly: depending on volume, either filtrate or change oil—the Cleaning Schedule Generator below will show you the right rhythm for your kitchen type. Single-tank operation is actually simpler than split tanks; you have one oil schedule to manage, not two.

Yes—at 71 kg, it's light enough to move with a two-person carry or a sack truck. Just ensure you disconnect the gas safely, drain or protect the oil tank, and reconnect it securely at the new location.
