THE WORKING VIEW

Why this free standing fryer earns its place

This is a fryer built for kitchens that never stop: two baskets mean one can be draining whilst the other is in the oil, and the 18-litre tank recovers heat fast enough to keep up with a 200-cover service. Set the oil temperature between 130–190°C (depending on what you're frying — chips at 180°C, donuts at 170°C, just-finished proteins at 160°C), and the thermostat keeps it locked. The tank temperature is monitored continuously; a safety thermostat prevents overheating.

The Fryer Angel safety system is built in — it's not an add-on. This system prevents fires and flare-ups by monitoring oil temperature and automatically shutting down if something goes wrong. It protects staff, customers and the kitchen itself; it's legally expected in modern catering but most operators still treat it as optional. Here it's standard. Stainless-steel frame, twin baskets on feet for easy draining, propane gas supply for the flexibility of portable or flexible-location operation.

At 890 × 400 × 900 mm (width × depth × height), it's a footprint that fits most service lines. The 86 kg weight means it's not bolted-down-forever either — you can reposition it during a kitchen refit or move it to a secondary site if a second fryer is needed temporarily. One-year warranty covers parts and labour from Falcon UK.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Recovery is how quickly the oil comes back to temperature after you put cold food in. A fryer that takes 8 minutes to recover means a 2-minute wait between orders. The Falcon recovers in 2–3 minutes, so you're frying continuously without batching delays. Critical at peak service.

Two baskets cover 90% of restaurant frying. Each basket holds 2–3 kg of frozen product (chips, wings, fish). One basket cooks whilst the other drains; turnaround is 4–5 minutes per batch. If you're frying more than 60 kg an hour consistently, a second fryer makes sense. Most sites find one F900 is enough.

Propane is portable and flexible — if you move premises or want to trial it on a second site, you just swap cylinders. Natural gas ties you to the mains supply, which is cheaper per unit but locks you in. If you're permanent and gas-supplied, natural gas costs less over time. Choose based on your likelihood of moving.

18 litres total tank capacity. Change frequency depends on volume and what you're frying — fish dirts oil faster than chips. Most sites change every 30–40 operating hours (roughly weekly in a busy kitchen). You can filter between changes to extend life another week.

The system is built in and passive — no consumables, no maintenance contracts. If it fails, Falcon replaces it under warranty (one year). After warranty, a replacement unit is typically £300–500 and takes 1–2 hours to fit.

Call Craven Cooling on 01792 732702 for fastest routing. Falcon is UK-stocked; most repairs turnaround in 24–48 hours. For critical service, discuss a loaner fryer option when you order — some sites arrange backup cover during busy seasons.
