THE WORKING VIEW

Why this pressure fryer earns its place

Electric pressure frying trades gas supply for precision and consistency. The Henny Penny HP8000E runs four independent cooking heads from a 500×980mm footprint, making it equally suited to compact kitchens and high-output service lines. Like its gas counterpart, pressure frying cooks at lower temperatures, extending oil life by 30–50% depending on volume and product mix. The sealed chamber keeps natural juices locked in food—that tenderness and taste carries through to the plate.

The real advantage shows in menu programming. The unit features up to ten adjustable preset programmes, which means busy or inexperienced staff can achieve consistent results without guesswork. Load the settings once, and every batch cooks to the same standard. The built-in filtration system keeps oil in use longer by removing particles continuously—a feature that reduces both waste and operating costs.

Electric operation requires a three-phase supply (415V or 480V depending on market) and draws 13,500W at peak. The machine is heavier than its gas equivalent at 168kg, reflecting the electrical infrastructure inside. Stainless-steel construction, 1219mm tall, designed for a working kitchen. Two-year warranty on parts and labour, with extended cover available.

Questions, answered straight

The system draws oil through a filter media continuously during frying, removing particles that accelerate oil breakdown. This extends usable oil life by removing the cumulative sludge that builds in traditional fryers—you'll filter more often but replace oil less often, which nets to cost savings.

Yes—the touchscreen interface lets you customize time, temperature and other variables for each of your ten slots. Once set, programmes repeat consistently, so training new staff is straightforward. The manual walks through customization, or call 01792 732702 for setup support.

The unit is specified for three-phase supply and draws 13,500W at operating temperature. Most commercial kitchens have three-phase availability, but confirm with your electrician before ordering. The installation manual details exact voltage and earthing requirements for your site.

Built-in filtration typically extends oil life by 20–40% compared to unfiltered frying, depending on volume and the products you cook. The savings add up fastest in high-volume operations—a busy takeaway might replace oil twice weekly instead of three times, paying for the filtration benefit within months.

No—this model is freestanding only. The electrical components and three-phase connections don't allow for vertical stacking. Plan your kitchen layout with each unit as a standalone station.

The pressure chamber and electrical systems need annual inspection to maintain safety and warranty cover. The filtration cartridge should be checked monthly and replaced annually or when pressure build-up signals saturation. Contact 01792 732702 to arrange your first service and set a maintenance schedule.
