Why this counter fridge earns its place
The Polar U-Series UA047 double door counter fridge does two jobs at once: 282-litre-class refrigerated storage underneath, and a durable stainless steel worktop on top for prep. It's built for kitchens that need chilled ingredients within arm's reach of where food's actually being prepared, with a top that copes with constant use and cleans down fast at the end of service.
Usable internal capacity is 190 litres across five adjustable shelves, and the interior is 1/1 gastronorm compatible, so trays can be swapped straight between the counter, a blast chiller, a combi oven or a freezer without decanting food into different containers. Forced air cooling brings temperatures back down quickly even when the doors are being opened repeatedly through service, holding a -2 to +8°C range, and the unit is rated Climate Class 5 for reliable performance in ambient kitchen conditions up to 43°C.
Construction is stainless steel throughout, refrigerant is R600a, and the fridge draws 300W. Automatic defrost keeps cooling performance consistent without manual attention, self-closing doors reduce both running costs and the risk of a door left open mid-service, and a digital controller gives an accurate, constant temperature display. It's backed by a 2-year parts and labour warranty and weighs 98kg gross.
