Why this upright freezer earns its place
The Foster EcoPro G3 EP700L-41/108 is a single hinged-door upright freezer from Foster's EcoPro G3 range — the cabinet format most commercial kitchens turn to when they need genuine frozen storage rather than a chest unit eating floor space. It holds a true -21°C to -18°C, deep enough for long-term stock rather than just short-term freezing, and is built for continuous commercial duty. At 482 litres net, it suits a single prep station, a satellite freezer alongside a walk-in, or a standalone unit for a smaller kitchen.
Three 2/1 GN shelves with an anti-tilt system (40kg per shelf) give solid racking for boxed and bagged stock, and Foster's Circulair I air-distribution technology keeps cold air moving evenly through the cabinet so loaded shelves don't create warm pockets. Cooling is fan-assisted on a 230V supply, with Foster's Fuzzy Logic II controller and 'e' mode managing compressor cycling against the load rather than running flat out. That combination lands the freezer at Energy Class C, 1160.7 kWh a year and an EEI of 31.0% — a genuine number for a unit holding sub-zero temperatures rather than a chilled band, and one worth weighing against the running cost of an older freezer it might be replacing.
Build is stainless steel exterior with an aluminium interior, on R290 — a natural, HFC-free refrigerant with none of the phase-down exposure of the gases still running in a lot of older cabinets. A thermal-break door frame and hot-gas door heater fight condensation and ice build-up at the seal, the touch control panel stays hidden until lit, and the single self-closing lockable door holds open at 90° for loading. It's supplied on 80mm castors, the front two braked, and comes with 2 years on-site parts and labour cover.
