Why this walk-in fridge earns its place
The Tefcold CRPF2121 is a walk-in chiller room supplied complete — insulated panels, monoblock cooling and electronic control in one package — giving a near-square 1940 × 1940 mm floor and 2040 mm of height. It holds fresh stock steadily at 0 to +8 °C, the chilled band that meat, dairy and prepped ingredients need, so a kitchen can bring bulk deliveries and daily mise en place into one walk-in store instead of spreading them across several upright cabinets.
It runs on R290 refrigerant with a 150 g charge and defrosts automatically by hot gas, clearing ice without staff shutting the room down. The electronic controller holds the setpoint across the 0 to +8 °C range and the plant draws 905 W in use. Rated at 60 dB, it is a back-of-house unit, and the white internal lining wipes down for routine hygiene and HACCP checks.
The room ships as flat panels for on-site assembly, with a single hinged solid door giving a 700 mm wide by 1845 mm high opening for trolleys and stock. Built up it weighs 458 kg net (488 kg gross), so a level, load-bearing floor matters. Cooling is by R290 and the setpoint is electronically managed; continuous running works out at about £1927 a year at 25p/kWh.
