Why this walk-in fridge earns its place
The Tefcold CRPF1524 is a walk-in chiller room for kitchens and food businesses that need bulk chilled storage in one accessible place rather than several upright fridges. It arrives as a modular system with the refrigeration built in, giving 1340 × 2240 × 2040 mm of internal space to hold fresh produce, dairy, meat, prepped stock and catering packs at fridge temperature. It suits operations where chilled volume has outgrown standing units.
In use it holds 0 to +8 °C, the working band for chilled storage. Defrost is automatic and uses hot gas, clearing ice without manual intervention or a break in the cold chain, and an electronic controller manages the temperature. The system runs on R290, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with low environmental impact, and operating noise is rated at 60 dB. At the rated energy use, electricity works out at about £1708 a year at 25p/kWh.
Internally the room measures 1340 × 2240 × 2040 mm (W×D×H), and the single hinged solid door gives a 700 mm wide by 1845 mm high clear opening for loading trolleys and stock. It runs from a 220-240V/50Hz supply and draws 860W, with a 130g R290 charge. Gross weight is 326 kg (296 kg net), so delivery access and siting are worth checking before install.
