THE WORKING VIEW

Why this walk-in fridge earns its place

This is a walk-in cold and freezer room — a refrigerated space you walk into rather than a cabinet you open. It is assembled from insulated modular panels that lock together to form the room and its door, and it does the job cabinets can no longer manage: holding bulk stock in one refrigerated space for a high-volume kitchen.

The build is panelised, so the room is put together on site from insulated sections. A walk-in layout suits bulk workflow — staff move stock in and out on trolleys and shelving rather than through cabinet doors — and keeps a large volume of product under one controlled space.

Because it assembles in place, the install needs planning: floor space, a clear access route and a level base for the panels. Walk-in rooms also need provision for defrost and cleaning water, so factor drainage into the siting. As a combined cold and freezer room it is designed to be configured for your chilled and frozen stock.
