Why this walk-in freezer earns its place
The Tefcold CRNF1824 is a walk-in freezer room built for back-of-house frozen storage, for when uprights and chest freezers stop keeping up with service volume. Finished in white inside and out, it gives a kitchen, butchery or catering operation a sealed, walk-in cold space held at freezer temperature, entered through a single hinged solid door with a 700 mm wide, 1765 mm high aperture.
The room runs at -20 to -10 °C under electronic control, with automatic hot-gas defrost keeping the evaporator clear without manual intervention. Sound output is rated at 60 decibels. Energy use is 9864 kWh a year — about £2466 a year at 25p/kWh — so it belongs alongside your other fixed running costs rather than being a unit you switch off between services.
Internally the room measures 1560 × 2160 × 1960 mm (W×D×H) and the assembled unit weighs 680 kg. It runs on a 220-240V/50 single-phase supply drawing 13 amps, with a 1510 W input, and cools on R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with a 150 g charge. Plan the delivery route and final position around the panel weight and the door aperture before install.
