The Polar U-Series DS489-FGY is a 2.1 x 2.1m integral walk-in freezer room finished in grey, holding 7,677 litres of frozen stock across a dedicated back-of-house space. It turns floor space into a room where bulk frozen deliveries, batch-prepped stock and long-hold ingredients live together on shelves and trolleys, rather than crammed into a bank of upright freezers. Inside it's 2.04m x 1.88m, sized for full-height access and stock rotation.
Because the refrigeration is integral—an R449A system running on 230V at 1800W—the freezer pack is built into the room at –15 to –18 °C and there is no separate remote condensing unit to house in a plant area. Staff walk in to load and pick frozen stock, keeping it organised and rotated across a full service week. The room works in ambient temperatures up to 43 °C.
Integral construction keeps installation simpler: the room ships as 80mm-thick insulated panels (450 kg total) to build on site, with the refrigeration already matched to the room. Panels bolt together and the footprint stays predictable at 2.1 x 2.1m. The warranty is 2 years parts and labour, with a 5-year guarantee on the panels themselves.
