The DS488-FWH is a walk-in freezer room from Polar's U-Series, holding 6,490 litres at -15 to -18°C in a white finish. Supplied as a panelled cold room that builds into dedicated frozen storage for a commercial kitchen, it gives you a room to walk into and stock rather than a bank of freezer cabinets, for operations carrying serious frozen volume.
Being an integral unit, the refrigeration is built into the room itself rather than sitting on a separate remote condensing unit, which keeps the plant simple. The room uses 80mm insulation and R449A refrigerant with fan-assist cooling to hold below-zero temperature reliably. It draws 1800W on 230V supply and weighs 435kg.
As a panel-built room it's assembled on site, so plan the delivery route and the doorway the panels have to pass through, and leave access for the door swing and defrost drainage.
