Why this starter unit earns its place
Stacked pans sliding into each other, tableware jumbled together, a shelf that looks tidy for a day and then doesn't — anyone running a busy cold room or dry store knows the problem. The FU687 is Cambro's answer for shelving that's already fitted with Basics Plus units: a universal storage rack starter kit built specifically for the 610mm-deep shelving in that range.
It's a fibreglass rack, finished in silver, sized at 525mm wide and 626mm deep with a 120mm profile — light enough to lift and reposition at 4.41kg, but rigid enough to hold its shape once loaded. Being fibreglass rather than bare metal or plastic, it stands up to the damp and knocks of a cold room without corroding, and Cambro backs it with a 1-year warranty.
As a starter kit, it's the entry point into building a fully customised rack configuration across your Basics Plus shelving — you use it to work out how you want pans, trays and tableware separated before committing to a full rack-out of the run.
