Why this add-on unit earns its place
FW624 is an add-on bay for the Camshelving Basics Plus system — a way of growing a cold room or storage run sideways rather than starting a new one from scratch. At 870mm wide, 610mm deep and 1830mm tall, it carries four tiers up to full height, and it can be built onto an existing run in a straight line with no loss of weight-bearing capacity, or turned to form an L-shape or T-shape where the layout of the room demands it.
It ships as a complete kit rather than loose parts: one post kit, eight traverses and the shelf plates needed to attach to the adjoining unit, so a run gets extended without a separate parts list to chase down. The whole thing is built from lightweight, non-corrosive plastic in Cambro's grey finish, designed to withstand tough conditions and backed by a lifetime warranty against rust and corrosion — a genuinely long guarantee for a shelving component that lives in a cold, damp environment.
Upkeep is straightforward. The shelf plates are removable and dishwasher safe, so the unit can go through a full clean without hand-scrubbing every plate, and at 18.8kg gross the bay itself is light enough to manoeuvre and align against the rest of the run without heavy lifting.
