Why this add-on unit earns its place
This is an add-on, not a standalone shelf — it exists specifically to extend a Cambro Camshelving Basics Plus run you already have. Connect it in a straight line, an L-shape or a T-shape onto an existing Basics Plus Stationary unit, and it arrives with everything needed to do that: one post kit, 8 traverses and the shelf plates that fix it to its neighbour. Four vented shelves give you the extra tiers, in grey plastic, at 718 × 610 × 1830mm and 16.4kg.
The shared-post approach is the clever bit: adding this unit onto a straight run doesn't cost you any of the weight-bearing capacity of the shelving either side of it, so a long run of Camshelving stays as strong at the join as it is anywhere else. The vented shelf design keeps air moving round whatever's stored on it, which matters as much in a chilled space as it does on a dry-store shelf.
Where it earns its keep is durability in the environments steel shelving struggles with. Being plastic, it carries a lifetime warranty against rust and corrosion, so damp cold rooms and repeated hose-downs don't shorten its life the way they would a mild-steel alternative. The shelf plates lift straight out, run through a dishwasher, and go back in — cleaning day doesn't mean scrubbing a fixed shelf in place.
