Why this multideck earns its place
The Polar U-Series DY397 is an open-front multideck display fridge, the format built to turn chilled stock into impulse sales. With no doors between the customer and the product, its four full-height decks put drinks, sandwiches, snacks, dairy and other grab-and-go lines straight into the shopper's hand. It is built in polished stainless steel with 20 mm insulation, giving a clean retail finish that stands up to the pace of a busy high-street counter. At 1550 mm wide it gives a substantial run of merchandising space for a convenience store, forecourt or food-to-go counter where open display drives the basket.
Open-front multidecks hold their temperature with a forced-air cooling system and an air curtain drawn across the aperture, so stock stays chilled at +2 to +5 °C while remaining fully open to the customer. That makes fast restocking and easy customer access the whole point of the format, and it suits high-turnover positions where speed of service matters. The cabinet runs on a 230 V supply and consumes 4078 kWh per year in energy class E — put those figures into our energy label decoder to work out running costs on your own tariff.
Plan for a floor-standing footprint of 1550 mm wide and 670 mm deep, plus clearance for airflow and restocking around the unit — it weighs 265 kg, so check the floor is level and sturdy. Measure your delivery route and final position against the dimensions before it arrives — a cabinet this size needs a clear path in. Site it away from doorways and draughts, which pull warm air through the air curtain and make any open multideck work harder to hold temperature.
