Why this under counter fridge earns its place
This is Smeg's 50s Retro mini bar fridge, model FAB5RPB5, a compact single-door drinks fridge in pastel blue, carrying the brand's rounded 50s silhouette. It suits hotel guest rooms, boutique properties, offices and hospitality receptions as a working chiller that also earns its place as a visible design piece. Where a plain white box disappears into a corner, the pastel blue retro Smeg styling is part of the merchandising, keeping cold drinks to hand without looking like back-of-house kit.
As a mini bar format it holds 34 litres across 2 glass shelves — bottles, cans and cartons at a single point of use rather than bulk stock. It runs at +8 to −14 °C with static cooling, so treat it day to day as a chilled drinks cabinet rather than a food-storage fridge.
The compact mini-bar footprint at 740 × 404 × 569 mm (W×D×H) is designed to tuck under a counter, onto a shelf or into a cabinet recess. Weighing 21.5 kg, it is a standalone freestanding unit — not built-in — so you measure the opening, allow clearance for the door and side airflow, then plug it in to 220–240V mains. Craven Cooling supplies and supports the fridge if you need help sizing it to the space.
