Why this countertop cake display fridge earns its place
The Tefcold UPD80 is a countertop cake display fridge for merchandising patisserie, gateaux and chilled treats at the point of sale. Behind its single hinged glass door sit three black wire shelves and 80 litres gross / 78 litres net of display space, presented across a 0.76 m² display area. The black ABS finish, inside and out, keeps the emphasis on what is on the shelves.
It runs at +2 to +12 °C, a working band wide enough to suit cakes, desserts and other chilled display lines, and an electronic controller holds the setting. Defrost is automatic on the off cycle, so there is no manual routine to run. At 42 dB it is quiet enough for a serving counter, and at energy class C and 1368.8 kWh a year it costs about £342 a year at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 428 × 386 × 1000 mm (W×D×H) with 400 × 358 × 610 mm of internal space, and weighs 46 kg, so it sits on a counter without dominating it. It runs from a standard 13 amp supply on 220-240 V, draws 184 W, and uses R600a refrigerant with a 40 g charge. Its compact width makes it straightforward to position on most back-counters.
