THE WORKING VIEW

Why this ice cream accessorie earns its place

This is a Combisteel scoop sink, or dipper well, for an ice cream service point, fitted with its own water tap. It sits alongside the display freezer and holds water that keeps serving scoops clean between portions, so staff can rinse and return each scoop without leaving it to sit in sticky product. The built-in tap gives a controllable water feed at the counter.

In use it plumbs into a mains water connection and drains continuously through its drain hole, with an overflow pipe managing the water level so the well stays topped up without flooding. The tap lets staff draw fresh water at the point of service, while the running-water well keeps scoops rinsed through a busy shift.

Because it plumbs in, it needs a water supply to connect to and a drain to run off into, with the overflow pipe handling excess. Plan the service point around access to both before fitting it beside your ice cream cabinet.

Questions, answered straight

It is a dipper well that holds water to rinse and store ice cream serving scoops between portions. It keeps scoops clean and free of build-up through a service rather than leaving them sitting in product.

The built-in tap gives staff a controllable fresh-water feed at the service point, on top of the running-water well that keeps serving scoops rinsed.

Yes. It has a water connection to feed it and a drain hole to run off into, so it needs both a water supply and a drain at the service point.

The overflow pipe manages the water level in the well, letting excess run off so the sink stays topped up with fresh water without flooding.

No. This is a scoop rinse well, not a chilled cabinet. It holds and drains water rather than cooling product, and pairs with a separate ice cream display freezer.
