Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The Tefcold NIC501SCEB is a chest freezer with a sliding curved glass lid, built to display and sell frozen stock rather than just store it. Its 475-litre gross (367-litre net) capacity and 1430 mm internal width give a long, shoppable frozen bay — well suited to pre-pack ice cream, frozen lines and grab-and-go stock. The white cabinet and glass lid keep the range visible while holding temperature.
It holds a band of −24 to −14 °C with a mechanical controller and manual defrost, so plan a periodic defrost into your routine to keep it running efficiently. It uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with a 110 g charge, draws 191 W and runs at a measured 45 dB(A). Rated energy class D, it uses 929 kWh a year — about £232 a year at 25p/kWh.
The freezer has an internal footprint of 1430 × 510 × 571 mm (W×D×H), so measure your floor run and access route before delivery. It connects to a standard 13A supply, so no dedicated electrics are needed in most sites. At 122 kg gross weight, plan for two people or equipment when positioning it, and leave clearance for the sliding lid to run.
