Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The NIC400SCEB is a display chest freezer built for ice cream and frozen impulse retail. It presents frozen stock from the top for scooping or pre-pack selection, finished in white outside with a white painted steel liner that stands up to daily use on a customer-facing counter.
It holds a deep -24 to -14 °C band suited to long-term frozen storage and ice cream display, running on natural R290 refrigerant. Defrost is manual and the controller is mechanical, so the cabinet is simple to set and operate. At 45 dB it is quiet enough for a counter or kiosk where customers stand close.
Draw is modest for a freezer of this type: at energy class E it uses 1003.8 kWh a year, about £251 a year at 25p/kWh, on a 179 W input. Because defrost is manual, build a periodic defrost into the cabinet's routine to keep frost from building up and the freezer running efficiently.
