Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The Tefcold NIC302SC is a sliding-lid display chest freezer built for impulse ice cream sales. Its white cabinet carries 288 litres gross and 218 litres net of capacity, enough to put tubs and pre-packed lines at the point of sale in a shop, kiosk or parlour rather than in the back. Static cooling holds the load at a steady display temperature with no cabinet fan running across the product.
It runs at -24 to -14 °C on a mechanical controller, cold enough to keep scooping tubs firm and pre-packed ice cream frozen hard. Defrost is manual, so build a periodic clear-down into the cleaning routine. Rated energy class D, it uses around 592.8 kWh a year — about £148 a year at 25p/kWh — on R290 refrigerant with an 85 g charge, and is rated to climate class 5. At 45 dB it is quiet enough for a customer-facing position.
Inside, the usable space measures 890 × 510 × 576 mm (W×D×H), and the cabinet weighs 62 kg net (70 kg gross). It connects to a standard 220-240 V / 50 Hz supply through a 13 A socket and draws 200 W, so no special electrics are needed. The exterior is finished in white, with a white painted-steel interior.
