Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The NIC201SCEB is a curved glass lid chest freezer built to display frozen impulse stock — most often ice cream and lollies — through a clear sliding lid. It holds 185 litres gross, and the curved glass gives customers a full view of what is inside while the sliding action keeps the opening easy to reach across. The white cabinet suits a parlour, kiosk or shop-floor position where frozen stock needs to be seen.
It runs at -24 to -14 °C, cold enough to hold ice cream at both storage and scooping temperatures, and a mechanical controller sets the point with a simple dial. Defrost is manual, so plan a periodic defrost into your routine to keep the interior clear of ice. Sound output is 45 dB, and it is rated climate class 5 for warmer ambient conditions. At energy class D it is rated at 439 kWh a year, about £110 a year at 25p/kWh.
On installation it runs from a standard 13 A supply, drawing 98 W of input power, so the running load is modest for a display cabinet. It uses R600a refrigerant, and the interior is finished in white painted steel for easy wipe-down cleaning. Site it with clearance around the cabinet for airflow and set the sliding lid for easy customer access.
