Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The Tefcold IC302SCEB is a display chest freezer with a curved sliding glass lid. The glazed top merchandises frozen stock from above, so customers see the product without opening the cabinet — the format built for impulse frozen and ice cream sales at the point of purchase. It holds 264 litres gross behind a white exterior and white painted steel interior.
Day to day it runs at -24 to -14 °C, cold enough for ice cream and frozen retail, and is rated climate class 5 so it holds temperature in a warm shop. It uses a mechanical controller and manual defrost, and is rated at 45 dB(A), quiet enough to sit on a shop floor or front-of-house. At its rated 772 kWh a year it costs about £193 a year to run at 25p/kWh, with energy class D and an EEI of 47.6%.
It runs from a standard 13 A supply, so no special electrics are needed — site it on its own socket rather than an extension lead. Cooling is on R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with an 85 g charge, a low-GWP gas now standard in commercial freezing. The external dimensions are listed in the spec panel on this page; measure your access route against them, as the cabinet is delivered as one piece.
