Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD IC301SC is a compact glass-lid display chest freezer for selling frozen stock at the point of sale. The flat sliding glass lid gives a clear view into 255 litres of net capacity — ice cream tubs, wrapped novelties and frozen pre-pack — and the white cabinet drops neatly into a serving area or shop floor at just 1010 mm wide.
It runs at -24 to -14 °C, cold enough for ice cream and frozen goods, using static cooling with a mechanical controller. Defrost is manual, so you will switch it off periodically and clear the ice rather than rely on an automatic cycle. At 45 dB it is quiet at the counter, and climate class 5 rates it to hold temperature in warm ambient conditions — useful for a summer kiosk.
The freezer measures 1010 × 630 × 892 mm externally and needs a standard 13 A supply on 220–240 V. At 65 kg gross it is manageable for two people to position. It runs on R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant with an 85 g charge; gross volume is 296 litres, 255 litres net. Running cost works out at about £162 a year at 25p/kWh.
