The glass lid means customers look down onto the frozen stock rather than into a solid box, so the freezer sells the product as well as storing it. It holds 396 litres and is built in white ABS plastic with 68 mm insulation, keeping everything at 0 to +10 °C. Day to day it runs as a chest freezer: stock sits down in the well, the glass cover holds the cold in while keeping the contents on view, and you lift the lid to load and pick. An LED light inside makes browsing easy even in dim corners, and because the cold sits low in a chest, opening the top loses less temperature than a front-opening door, which suits a cabinet that gets browsed and dipped into through the day.
