Why this platterstray earns its place
Churchill's Alchemy buffet trays are the workhorses of any professional buffet or plated-service kitchen. Each tray measures 580 mm long by 200 mm wide—a shallow, rectangular format that's generous enough to hold multiple portions without crowding, but narrow enough that diners don't have to reach far to help themselves. Four trays come in each pack, which means you have a working set in service while others go through the wash.
These are made from fully vitrified fine porcelain—not earthenware, not stoneware, but proper china that's been fired at high temperature. That means they're durable, non-porous, and dishwasher safe. The pure white finish is the Alchemy signature: neutral enough to let your food speak, professional enough that you can take these from prep kitchen to fine dining without apology. They're part of the furniture, not a limitation on it.
The shallow rectangular profile is deliberate. It's wide enough that items don't slide, long enough to fit a whole service run, and shallow enough that nobody fumbles reaching across. Weight per tray is 1.7 kg (the pack is 6.79 kg), so they're manageable in production—you can stack them, carry them, turn them round quickly. And because they're porcelain, hot food won't stain them, service won't chip them (easily), and they'll outlive seasons of use.
