THE WORKING VIEW

Why this wall mounted earns its place

A menu case at the door does the selling before anyone walks in. Backlighting is what keeps it doing that job after four o'clock in winter, in a covered entrance, or on a street where the only other light is passing traffic. This case is LED lit and sized for an A4 print, which suits a single-page menu, a specials sheet or a tariff by the door.

The snapframe front is the part that matters day to day. The edges snap open against the wall, the old print lifts out, the new one drops in and the frame closes again — no unscrewing, no lifting the case down, no trip to the office. Anything you can print counts as artwork: it works with digital prints on ordinary poster paper, so a menu that changed at nine can be in the case by ten. The one thing to watch is stock weight. The light has to pass through the paper, so heavy board or a thick laminate will kill the backlight and leave you with an expensive frame.

Built in silver aluminium, the case is only 12 mm thick — among the slimmest of its kind — so it sits almost flat against the wall. In an entrance lobby, a corridor or a queue line, that is the difference between a fitting people walk past and one they catch with a shoulder.

Questions, answered straight

A

The snapframe front opens in place. The frame edges snap open, the print is swapped and the edges close again, all with the case still on the wall.

Ordinary poster paper works, including digital prints run off in-house. The only requirement is that light can pass through the sheet, so avoid heavy board or thick laminates — they block the backlight.

The case is 12 mm thick, one of the slimmest available, so it sits close to flat against the wall.

Yes, it is an LED lightbox — the panel lights the print from behind rather than shining onto it, so the menu reads evenly rather than in a hotspot.
