Why this tray earns its place
A serving tray needs to be two things: light enough to carry one-handed without fatigue, and durable enough to survive thousands of uses without cracking, staining, or warping. The Cambro PP rectangular tray does both. Made from highly durable, long-lasting polypropylene, it's engineered for the exact reality of busy kitchens and service lines. The 410×300mm footprint is neither too small nor oversized — it's proportionate to standard plates, bowls, and plated courses. At just 19mm deep with a clean, flat surface, it's easy to load, easy to carry, and easy to wash.
The beauty of polypropylene is that it's nearly indestructible in the contexts where trays actually live. It won't shatter if dropped (unlike ceramic), it won't dent or crease permanently (unlike thin metal), and it resists staining far better than white plasticware. The red colour stays true and doesn't fade under normal use and dishwashing. More importantly, the material is food-safe, fully dishwasher-safe, and doesn't harbour bacteria or odours the way porous materials can. In a commercial kitchen environment where speed and hygiene matter, this is significant.
Stackable design is crucial when storage space is at a premium. These trays stack flat and compact, so a dozen trays take minimal shelf space. In high-volume service — catering, banquets, canteens, hospital service — having 20–30 trays in circulation is normal. They're cheap enough to replace if one gets damaged, but they're durable enough that replacement is rare. Most kitchens find they simply outlast their usefulness.
