THE WORKING VIEW

Why this tray earns its place

The GN 1/3 is the bridge between cramped quarter-pans and full-width storage. At 325 × 176 mm, it gives you 50 per cent more capacity than a 1/4 while still sliding into standard gastronorm rails and rolling racks without stealing counter real estate. Melamine construction keeps it light (626 grams) and tougher than ceramic—it won't chip, crack, or develop hairline fractures from the thermal shock of the dishwasher.

This size lands in the sweet spot for most kitchens. It holds a full mise-en-place component, a composed salad base, a prepped protein portion, or a component garnish batch. The stackable design means you can build a tower a metre tall without losing floor space. Push an entire prep station through the wash in one run: two hours later, it's ready to restock and go live.

Grey melamine hides the daily scuffs and stains that would stand out on white. It's the tray that gets grabbed because it's clean, it's there, and it works. No fuss, no backup, just catering.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Yes. It sits into any GN rail, tray stand, or cambro-style unit designed for standard gastronorm containers.

Melamine is rigid. You can stack 15–20 without movement, but for a tall tower (eight or more), treat the stack as permanent or semi-permanent storage rather than daily mobile prep.

Melamine runs through full-cycle commercial dishwashers (80°C+) without issue. The grey finish resists discolouration better than white or clear finishes.

Melamine tolerates hot food for plating and service (up to 80°C), but don't place it directly under heat or on a hot-plate. Let hot items cool slightly before placing in the tray.

Melamine costs a third of steel, stacks to double the height, and weighs half as much. Steel suits permanent installation; melamine suits kitchens with high turnover and frequent deep cleaning.

Grey melamine resists permanent staining, but beets, turmeric, and strong spices can leave temporary marks. Dishwasher heat and time usually lifts them. Rinse immediately after high-colour prep for best results.
