Why this crates & boxe earns its place
Comas beech wood boxes solve a real problem in buffet service: how to add dimension and organisation to a flat counter without fussy, fragile risers. Each box measures 530×325mm and sits just 100mm tall — tall enough to make a visual difference, low enough that food stays visible and accessible across the whole arrangement.
Built from solid beech, these boxes are genuinely durable. The natural grain gives each one character, and the sanded edges feel smooth in hand during service. A shallow lip runs around the perimeter to keep items secure during movement and setup, stopping dishes or platters from sliding during busy service shifts. At 1.9kg per box, they're hefty enough to feel stable under loaded platters, yet light enough that a single person can rearrange a whole display without strain.
The set of four is designed for flexibility. Use all four to create distinct height zones across a long buffet counter, or pair them with other Comas presentation pieces to build layered, cohesive displays. They accommodate standard GN 1/1 melamine platters, ceramic tiles and serving dishes with equal grace. The neutral wood finish complements any tableware — from plain white Churchill ceramics to bold patterned platters — letting the food take centre stage.
