Why this board earns its place
The best serving boards disappear visually into the meal – they don't announce themselves, they just make the food look better. The APS Acacia Wood Serving Board does exactly that. At 250 × 170mm, it's sized for individual presentations or small shared plates: charcuterie, cheeses, a neat stack of crostini, grilled vegetables, even a single fish or steak with garnish. Acacia wood is a warm, honey-coloured hardwood with subtle grain that catches light without being showy.
The oiled finish is key. Instead of a glossy varnish that looks plasticky or a matte satin that can look tired, oiled acacia sits somewhere between – warm, tactile, slightly water-resistant without needing resealing. The oil brings out the wood's natural colour and grain, so each board is subtly unique. And acacia's natural flexibility means it won't warp or split the way cheaper woods do after years of temperature changes and washing.
At just 15mm thick and 170g, the board is delicate enough to feel hand-crafted without being fragile. Guests feel the weight and quality immediately, which elevates even simple food. It's small enough that kitchen staff can handle dozens quickly during a busy service, yet substantial enough that it doesn't feel cheap or throwaway. Stack a dozen of these and they take up less space than a single dinner plate.
