Why this mini bucket earns its place
At 70 mm across and 70 mm tall, the D9933 is a single-portion pot. It is the size that goes on the plate rather than beside it — a dip, a sauce, olives, a small side of slaw — and the size that holds one line of sachets or cocktail sticks on a counter without claiming a quarter of it. Lockhart lists it for service and display, and the smaller diameter pushes it towards the service end: it presents a portion, it is not a bulk holder.
Stainless steel earns its place at this size. Small pots are the ones that get dropped, stacked into a wash tray and fished out of a full sink, and steel comes through that where a ceramic pot of the same size arrives back chipped. It also stays neutral against sauce and vinegar, so a pot that held something acidic at lunch is still presentable for the evening. The equal 70 mm height and diameter keeps the centre of gravity low, which is what stops it going over when it is set down on a plate that is already moving.
