Why this crates & boxe earns its place
The APS Superbox GN 1/2 hits the middle ground in the modular crate family. At 350 mm wide and 290 mm deep, it's larger than the GN 1/4 but narrower than the full GN 2/4—the format that works on most counter configurations without dominating. Black wooden construction reads as warm, artisan and intentional; stainless steel would feel institutional by comparison. At 1.2 kg, it's still light enough to swap and reposition during service, but substantial enough to feel professional and built to last.
Wood is the key difference. It ages beautifully, warms the visual field, and photographs better for social media than bare metal. The open-top design keeps service simple—no lids to fumble with during a rush. Pastries, cheese, cold cuts, bread, prepared salads, anything chilled and displayable fits inside. At 105 mm height, contents stay visible over counter edges, making impulse purchase work.
The GN 1/2 anchors balanced displays. Pair two GN 1/4s with one GN 1/2 for visual interest. Use one GN 1/2 as the centre piece with smaller crates flanking it. The APS interlocking ring system means you can nest and stack—adjust heights, create depth, fill a counter with layered product that draws the eye. That flexibility is what makes the whole system valuable.
