THE WORKING VIEW

Why this zester earns its place

Cocktail presentation matters. The difference between a drink that looks finished and one that looks assembled often comes down to the garnish—and citrus zest is the fastest way to lift the whole thing. This two-in-one tool from Beaumont does both jobs: the zester pulls fine threads of lemon, lime or orange skin for a delicate crown; the canale cutter carves narrow channels around the flesh for elegant twists.

It's small enough to stay in your station at full service, light in hand, and the handle is shaped for control when you're working quickly across a dozen drinks at once. The plastic body won't conduct heat from your palm or cold from the citrus, so you're never fighting the tool.

Works on any citrus with skin thick enough to grip. You'll reach for this first, every shift.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

One tool does both fruits fine. The zester and cutter head cuts through any citrus skin the same way. If you're running a high-volume shift, you might keep one on the bar and one in your station—they're inexpensive enough to station them where you need them.

It's designed for regular lemons, limes, and oranges. Thicker skin can be harder work; a dedicated citrus channel knife is better for grapefruit if you're doing that regularly.

Soap and warm water, thirty seconds. The plastic won't rust or corrode. If zest dries on, run it under hot water to soften it first. It goes straight in the glass wash.

Most bars stock 2–3 so one's always clean while the others are in use. At full service on a cocktail-focused night, you'll reach for it constantly. For slower venues, one per shift might be enough.

The plastic handle is designed for daily use. It won't crack or split under normal bar work, and it won't absorb liquid or smell after service like wooden handles can.
