Why this label earns its place
Sunday is a heavy service followed by a clear-down, and what gets decided in that clear-down is what Monday morning finds in the fridge. Labelling every carried-forward container with a printed, colour-coded day and a written date means the first person in on Monday can act on the shelf without having to ring anyone.
At 19 × 19 mm the square goes on a gastronorm lid, a deli tub or a wrapped tray without covering the food, and leaves a clean run of space for the date under the printed day. The adhesive is permanent, so once it is pressed onto a dry, wiped surface it holds through the cold and through being moved around a full fridge. Removal is not tidy, which is the usual trade for a label that does not fall off, so keep them on containers, film and wrap.
