Why this ice caddie earns its place
An ice caddy might seem like a simple container, but outdoor events and large receptions teach you what matters: ice that stays ice, a lid that doesn't tip into the bucket mid-service, and a build that won't degrade after a season of events.
The Cambro ICS125L starts with thick CFC-free foam insulation wrapped in a one-piece rotomoulded plastic shell. This design keeps ice solid for days without electricity, even in summer sun. The shell won't dent if someone bumps it, won't crack from being stacked, won't bubble or delaminate, and won't rust because there's no metal to corrode. This durability matters on a catering fleet that does three events a week: the equipment outlasts the trend, not the other way round.
The SlidingLidTM mechanism is the clever bit. Instead of a hinged lid that flips up and threatens to tip back into the ice, this one slides back and under the body during use. Staff grab ice without fumbling with a lid, and there's no risk of contamination from a lid dropping into the water. The recessed well and drain shelf keep melted water separate from the ice, so you're serving ice, not ice soup. If you're stacking under prep tables or next to a bar—which most outdoor events do—the slant-top design fits neatly into tight spaces without eating counter room.
