The MasterClass Casserole Dish Deep 2.5L bridges the gap between the appeal of cast iron and the practicality of restaurant kitchens. Cast aluminium is half the weight of traditional cast iron—1.1 kg instead of 3kg+—but retains the heat-holding properties that make braises, stews, and brased vegetables sing. You get the colour development and sustained warmth, without the back strain of moving serious iron through a busy kitchen.

The stainless steel base makes this an induction-safe option, so it works on every hob type your kitchen might have—induction, gas, electric, radiant ring, halogen, ceramic, or solid plate. No compromise on heat source compatibility. Oven-safe to 200°C, so you can start a braise on the stovetop and finish it in the oven. The 2.5-litre capacity is the professional workhorse size: large enough for proper braise volumes (coq au vin, beef bourguignon, braised offal), small enough to fit shelf space.

Hand-washing is required (not dishwasher-safe), but that's the trade for the cooking performance. The black cast aluminium finish develops patina with use and good care—it gets better looking as it accumulates real work.
