Why this tumbler earns its place
The double old fashioned is the workhorse of any serious bar—it moves fast because it works for everything. Bourbon neat, whisky with ice, complex cocktails, long drinks, even water. At 360ml (12oz), it's a generous measure that reads as proper without looking excessive. The 100mm height and 96mm diameter give you a glass that sits comfortably in hand, stacks efficiently, and doesn't dominate the table.
Onis engineered the Inverness range for bars that measure everything in turns (shift rotations, stock cycles, glass breakage rates). The Xtratuff treatment hardens the glass surface against the specific stresses of commercial use—the thermal shock of ice water to 65°C dishwasher, the impact of repeated ice-filling, the cumulative wear of thousands of cycles. This isn't a feature; it's a cost calculation. A standard double old fashioned glass lasts 18–24 months under heavy use. Xtratuff-treated glass lasts 36 months or longer. That's the difference between replacing glassware every 18 months and doing it once every three years.
Visually, Inverness is restrained. The glass does the talking—no etching, no branding, just clean proportions and substantial weight in hand. When customers drink from these, they feel like they're getting something properly made, even if they couldn't articulate why. That perception is worth real money when you're selling spirit-forward drinks. Dishwasher safe, high-cycle safe, built to work.
