Why this hi ball earns its place
The hi-ball is the workhorse of spirit service—290ml (10¼oz) is the exact size a bartender reaches for when building a spirit-and-mixer: gin and tonic, rum and cola, whiskey and ginger. Not too large, not a short, just right for the ratio and enough ice for temperature control. The Onis Gibraltar 8-sided geometry adds visual presence without needing to remark on it; the faceted edges catch light and make a standard drink feel crafted.
The real substance here is Xtratuff strengthening. Commercial bars undergo ruthless glass cycling: ice-cold service, boiling wash, rinse, repeat. That thermal stress—the temperature swing from -5°C (ice) to 65°C (dishwasher) in seconds—is what kills ordinary glassware through micro-fractures. Xtratuff resists that specific failure mode. Combined with mechanical shock resistance, it means fewer replacements per season. For a 50–70 cover operation, that becomes measurable cost reduction; for a chain or high-volume venue, it's significant.
Packs of 12 are the standard rotation size. With two to three packs, you've got enough in service and enough cycling through wash that you're not fighting the machine. Dishwasher safe throughout.
