Why this tumbler earns its place
A 30 cl highball with a heavy base for spirits served long — whiskey and soda, gin and tonic, rum and coke — and draught beer pints served in smaller measures. The weight of the base keeps it stable on a crowded bar and gives it presence in the hand. Soda-lime with a heavy foot is the workhorse of pub and casual restaurant service; ice sits stable, condensation won't tip it, and it survives a shift's worth of hard use.
At 30 cl, it's the size for a spirit with a long mixer — a single measure plus ice and tonic or soda. The straight sides make it easy to hold and carry, and the heavy base won't slide across a wet bar.
